There are moments in life that have our full attention. We are focused, trying our hardest, and everyone is on their best behavior.
But what happens after those moments?
Today Christians everywhere are celebrating the birth of Christ. Gifts are being given, families are spending time together, and memories are being made.
Many will be reading the account in the 2nd Chapter of the Gospel According to Luke when Mary gave birth to the baby Jesus, when angels announced this to shepherds tending their flocks, and Simeon and Anna gave praise and thanks in the Temple at Jerusalem. But after all of that, after many have probably stopped reading, there is a line that contains a university worth of instruction:
"And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man." Luke 2:52
What do you do after the spotlight is off, the crowds have gone home, and no one is looking?
Those moments are what actually make the difference – they are the real building blocks for a life well lived.
