Tonight we began the detailed-oriented process of preparing our taxes. In years past, tax filing has been Ann's exclusive domain. This year, however, things are complicated by my consulting business and non-W2 income streams.
Apparently, we weren't far off from winning the game of tic-tack-toe (although we later found out that the "moved" did not technically apply to us – it is more accurate to say we have just been moving about as we are still residents of Maryland with our home and all of our stuff there).
One silver lining to it all is that tonight was one of few times that my very detailed accounting of work expenses suddenly had an obvious benefit.
Now, while we aren't counting on a tax return per se, let's just hope we don't owe a ton of taxes this year.
